Bali is not all beaches.
If you follow me on Twitter or subscribed to me on YouTube, you must’ve known that I recently went to Bali for vacation. I had a blast there! But, the joy has neglected me from posting. 🙁 I made a vlog of it though! And in case you haven’t watch it….
For many people, Bali has been a place they must visit before dying. Their reasons vary from one to another. Maybe you want to try the true ‘tropical feeling’. Or maybe you just want to hang out with your friends there. Either way, Bali is a very special island you must visit.
However, not many people know what Bali has in store for them. Many foreigners probably go to Bali for the beaches. Granted, the beaches in Bali is absolutely stunning. But, there are more to Bali than just sand and water. Here are some of them:
Ubud Monkey Forest
Guard your things from these little thieves.
If you ever dreamed about having a monkey as a pet, this is your paradise! Ubud Monkey Forest is a place where monkeys roam freely. You can feed them. Have them on your head. You can even punch them – I suggest not to.
Have a splashing fun!
WaterBom Bali is the number 1 waterpark in Asia and number 2 in the world! That fact alone should be enough for you to get off your ass and go to Bali right now.
This waterpark is crawling with slides from the most extreme – like Climax, to the kiddy slides.
Hope it doesn’t erupt.
Mount Batur is a still active mountain that is usually hiked at midnight so that hikers can see the awe inducing sunrise. This hike takes quite a while though, so make sure you have the fitness to do it!
I, personally, haven’t done it. But, according to my friends who have, it is absolutely worth it.
Tanah Lot Temple
Carved by nature.
Tanah Lot Temple is an ancient Hindu temple perched at the edge of Bali. Because it’s located in the edge, this temple get its fair share of waves, however, the fact that it’s still standing tall is a mystery itself.
The pure Bali experience.
The main island of Bali has been stained by the effects of globalization. Although it is more convenient to have signal wherever you go, if you want the full ‘tropical experience’ go to Penida Island.
It has beautiful lonely beaches and rocks that are as beautiful as a painting. However, if you decided to go here, please do bring some sandwiches for lunch. This island has very few restaurants that suits foreign taste.
Upside Down World
Just another upside down house.
You need to take some pics for Instagram while on vacation. Where else could you have an awesome picture, other than an upside down house?! Agreed, this is not the best trick art museum out there, but it’s still worth visiting!
It only costs $3 with Groupon 😉
Ubud Art Market
Bring a painting back home.
Bali is not only beautiful in paper. It’s also beautiful in canvas. Balinese painting ranges from the most colorful ones to the most gloomy and depressing ones. Once you get here, your wallet is gonna be empty pretty soon – or maybe it’s empty because a thief stole it.
So, that’s all special places in Bali that are not beaches. If you really do need some beach recommendation, I recommend Virgin Beach, Karma Beach, and Amed Beach. I don’t suggest going to Kuta Beach because it’s usually very crowded.
